Special Message From Author Ann Brashares!

It's been quite a week and it's only Tuesday! Random Buzzers have already had the chance to win movie posters for the upcoming "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" and now we've got even more exclusives for you!

Before Ann Brashares officially hits the boards to chat it up, she wanted to share with you a very special message as she gears up for an exciting event and wants YOUR advice:

Dear Buzzers,

Thanks for having me on your boards.  It's nice to be here.

For the most part, being a writer is not the most glamorous job in the world.  I spend a lot of time alone.  I don't have much of a schedule and there doesn't seem much point in getting dressed up for a day with my computer.  But once in a while some glamour is injected into my quiet life, and this week it is in the form of a movie premiere.  The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is having its premiere in New York City on Monday and I get to go. I'm pretty excited and a little bit nervous, and I have no idea what I'm going to wear.

So please don't hesitate to ask me questions about the movies or about my books (I'm far more knowledgeable about those) or just offer me a little wardrobe advice.

I look forward to it!

P.S.This week I'm thinking a lot about the upcoming movie sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.  It comes out on August 6th

aaah, fashion advice, huh??  hmm...how about this?  jump into the character of bridget ... or carmen ... or lena ... or tibby ... what would they wear?  oooh wait, the answer is so very obious - it's the premier for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, right??  you HAVE to wear "the pants" ... remember, they are magical ... and it would be absolutely magical for you to show up in "the pants" (and i understand they are 'fictional' ... however, we all own a pair of "the pants" ..........)

That's awesome!  I hope you have TONS of fun at the premier!  As to fashion advice, I am not the one to give advice on that.  I would show up in jeans.....I think dresses/skirts should be banned....

In the movie, why are they combining the 2nd, 3rd and 4th books???  They should make it just the second summer.  My friends and I are in love with your books and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and we are kind of upset that the movie is going to be the rest of the books. It should be separated by the summers and the way YOU wrote them.  It is based on YOUR book series and shouldn't YOU have some say in it?  It would be great if you could some how get back to me telling me why it's like this so I could understand. Laughing

I just wanna say I LOVE the whole Sisterhood series!! They are amazing! Me & my 3 best friends are gonna have a movie premiere party on the day the movie comes out =) As other people have already commented, jeans would be good to wear. It only makes sense. = ) P.S. Welcome to Random Buzzers!

Wow. Welcome to the site!

I was just wondering if you were satisfied with the way the movies turned out? Did they seem to fit the way you imagined the characters? Because it really annoys me in movies how people dont turn out the way you imagined them. I try not to watch movies of my favorite books because I think it will wreck 'em.

And how did you come up with the idea for the books? Did you every have a pair of 'magical pants'?

I made some for my friend once and i wrote our jokes and things on them. Im going to stop blabbing now.
