Random List #39: Blast from the YA Past

Jan 3, 2012

Last week BuzzGirl discussed her favorite YA 90's books and asked you to share your own thoughts on the topic. Well, after reviewing all of your (sometimes hilarious) comments, we have thrown together a Random List featuring the best YA book series from the 1990s! BEHLOD and let us know which ones you think were rightfully crowned best of the best.

The Baby Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin

dreamingnow: I remember The Babysitters Club! I was probably younger than the intended audience when I read them, but whatever. I devoured them.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

kitty_committee: I remember Goblet of Fire came out the summer before sixth grade started and all but like three people used it for the first book report of the year.  SO funny.

Fear Street Saga by R.L. Stine

chelleyreads: i really liked fear street and borrowed them from the library every week. after we exhausted all the library's fear street books we moved on to christopher pike.

Warriors by Erin Hunter

emilyjg: I survived on the Warriors series as I was growing up! They changed my perspective on reading almost as much as Harry Potter.

Goosebumps by R.L. Stine

godpinklover: I love R.L. Stine he is a great author. I love Goosebumps.

Animorphs by K.A. Applegate

jochoa1994: Omigosh..the animorphs..I loved that series so very much! I want to go back and re-read them now!

Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar

Books_Beauty_and_Brains: I lived on the Gossip Girls series! Still love them to this day <3

Dear America by Kristiana Gregory

inthebestworlds: I devoured all the Dear America books! Love the 90's. I get nostalgic all the time...

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket

kitty_committee: Oh!  Somebody said Series of Unfortunate Events.  I can't believe I forgot those!

One Last Wish series by Lurlene McDaniel

veela-valoom: I used to love (used to!) the One Last Wish books by Lurlene McDaniels.  I tried to re-read one as an adult. I sobbed the entire book  They were so sad!  Why did I do that to myself as a child?

My friends tried to start our own babysitters club yet.  But it was more just pretending than a real club because we only ever watched our own siblings.
