We were sad we couldn't attend the LA Times Festival of Books over the weekend, but we're glad to see some updates today! The Festival looked like it was a great hit!
The Festival of Books, hosted by LA Times, is the largest event of its kind in the country. We were excited to see that the LA Times updated frequently and posted recaps so we could see what some of our favorite authors were up to!
The Emerald Atlas author John Stephens was a part of the "In the Middle: Tweenage Fantasy” panel and he looks like he's having a great time, don't you think?

Lissa Price, author of Starters, was thrilled to be a speaker at panel "Young Adult Fiction: Future Tense" and she had a blast! Lissa wrote on her blog "I was concerned there might be a small group since it was the last panel on that stage, near closing time. But in fact, we had an amazing turnout filling the chairs and then standing behind or spilling over to the sides and on the grass." You can read the rest of her blog post here!
Author Judy Blume was also at the Festival in an one-on-one interview to talk about her writing career, her books, and her characters! What's even better is that the staff at the Festival recorded the whole thing, so you can watch the video here!
The Festival also had this cool tent where people could write the names of the books they were reading on the canvas! Envious!

It was pretty cool. I went to the panel that Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle, Maggie Stiefvater, and Jacky Woodson did, which was really fun, and then got to meet Maureen and Maggie and get my books signed. =)
