Dec 20, 2012

We know you've been waiting a long time Buzzers, but wait no more! We are now accepting applications for Spring 2013 Ambuzzadors!

For those who are new to Random Buzzers, our Ambuzzador program is an exclusive group of select Buzzers who not only love reading books, but talking about and sharing them! Every season we carefully select 60 Ambuzzadors who are then charged with spreading the word of three titles for the season in however many ways they can! In addition to spreading the buzz, Ambuzzadors get special perks and activities, like sneak peeks at chapter samplers, short stories, and more! You can find full details of the Ambuzzador program below:

Curious about what titles Ambuzzadors will be buzzing about (click on the books for their summaries)? The season's books are:

Dualed by Elsie Chapman; Mojo by Tim Tharp; Strands of Bronze and Gold by Jane Nickerson

So, how do you become an Ambuzzador? It's as easy as filling out this application! Applications close January 14th so hurry!

Remember, Ambuzzadorship lasts for an entire season, so if you're going to have a busy schedule from February - April, please take that into consideration before you apply  - there's always next season! If you were previously an Ambuzzador, sorry, but you must wait one full season to reapply.

Now onto the full details and FAQs:

What is the Ambuzzador Program and how does it work?
Our new Ambuzzador Program is an exclusive group of select outgoing Buzzers who not only love books, but love talking about our community here at Random Buzzers!

FAQ:

Goals for the Ambuzzador Program:

  • Increase the total membership on Random Buzzers
  • Help build buzz for the titles selected

What is the Ambuzzador Program?

An exclusive group of Buzzers like you who love to chat about and share books with fellow readers. These titles representing three different genres are featured every four months. The group is also charged with encouraging family and friends to join Random Buzzers!

Why should I join?

The Ambuzzador Program is a chance for you to become more involved with the books you love and help promote and spread the word about the Random Buzzers community! Plus you'll get loads of cool perks and exciting goodies like a special Ambuzzador's Kit you'll receive at home in the mail and exclusive access to authors!

What do I have to do?

Ambuzzadors will help spread the word for the specific title by building buzz for the book and author on Random Buzzers, within their school, and with friends and family. What you'll need to do will include the following, but are not limited to:

a. Recruit new members to the site using specialized referral cards included in your Buzz kit.

b. Complete special activities on the Random Buzzers website (for Buzz Bucks of course!).

c. Spread the word about the book online by submitting reviews on other book websites such as Goodreads and Amazon.

d. Participate in a book club or after school activity where you can present the book to your friends and peers.

e. Inform as many people as you can about the book and getting them excited to read it.

f. Join online discussions about the book in the designated forums on Random Buzzers.

What will the Ambuzzador Kits include?

Ambuzzador Kits will include a copy of the book and a folder with: an intro letter from the author or editor, FAQ, chapter sampler, promotional material, author bio/Q&A, discussion guide, and the official Random House Children's Books pitch letter, timeline, and tips. The kit will also include tools and items to help you spread the word about Buzzers and recruit new members!

What titles are included in this program?

We choose new titles each season based on a number of factors. All three titles will be from different genres. Ambuzzadors who have indicated an interest in a genre that is included in that season may be invited to participate in the program that season.

What are the perks?

There will be loads of perks for Ambuzzadors including VIP access with author appearances on Buzzers, a dedicated Ambuzzador board to chat and share ideas, first access to new books in the store, signed books, and much more!

When does the program start and how long does it last?

The Spring 2013 Ambuzzador program will begin in early February with three titles and will conclude at the end of the season in April. This will continue every four months for a total of nine titles per year.

Where do I sign up?

Submit your application here!

Ambuzzadors will be picked based on:

a. Length of Random Buzzers membership

b. Overall level of participation on the site

c. Interest in the genre of books selected for the season

d. Willingness to go above and beyond to help spread the word about Random Buzzers and Random House books.

Please note we will only take applicants who live in the United States

How exclusive is the Ambuzzador Program?

For Spring 2013, we're accepting 60 Ambuzzadors. 20 members per genre/title.

Can I be an Ambuzzador more than once?

Yes! You can become eligible again one season after your last participating term. If you have applied to be an Ambuzzador and have not been chosen, or a term has lapsed and you are ready to apply again, please resubmit your application for the upcoming season.
