The Buzz

A Letter from Brian Falkner

Sep 20, 2010

We'd like to welcome author Brian Falkner to Random Buzzers this week! He's with us all week on the Buzz Boards discussing his new book Brain Jack, and answering your questions!

Head on over to his forum now and join the discussion! In the meantime, here's a letter he wrote to all of you:

Hi to all the Random Buzzers,
The buzz is building, Brain Jack is very nearly here! It’s great to be here on Random Buzzers as we count down to publication date.
Brain Jack is set in a slightly dystopic world, a few years in the future, in which the world is on the verge of a neuro-technological revolution.
If you haven’t already heard about neuro-technology, it’s the science of analyzing brain-waves and turning them into computer commands. Believe it or not, this technology already exists. Already you can operate machines, play video games, and control computers with your thoughts (in a limited way). But in a few years time I think this kind of technology will be commonplace, and much more advanced.  The possibilities are amazing, but there will be risks as well, which Brain Jack explores.
The official Brain Jack book launch itself will be in Las Vegas next week and that should be a great event.
In the meantime this is your chance to hack into my brain and find out anything you want to know about me, my life, my books, or anything. There have been some fantastic questions posted so far, and I am looking forward to some more intriguing and insightful questions. I will also be posting some thoughts and other stuff for you to comment on, or ask questions about.
So get buzzing, see you soon!

Brian

LunitaBere: Hey Brian! Welcome to Random Buzzers! Brain Jack sounds pretty cool. Lately I've been reading a lot of dystopian novels, which I've found I have liked a lot. I'll definitely have to check Brain Jack out. =)
