  • A Letter from E. Lockhart!

    Dec 16, 2010

Join us next week as E. Lockhart visits! She's back and excited to chat with all of you about her latest edition to the world of Ruby Oliver, Real Live Boyfriends.

Post your questions for E. Lockhart on her forum here an don't forget to log back in next week to see what she has to say. In the meantime, here's a letter she wrote to all of you, enjoy!

    "Hi!

    E. Lockhart here. Did you know the Ruby Oliver Books all have supercute new covers? They do. And those supercute covers match the new (fourth) Ruby book which is just out in hardcover: Real Live Boyfriends.

By the way, last year when Treasure Map of Boys came out, "Ruby" was "here" at Random Buzzers last year, doing an ADVICE COLUMN.

This was a completely insane project for a fictional character such as herself to do, given that her life is a complete mess. As you can read in The Boyfriend List (the first in the series), Roo has lost not only her boyfriend, but all her friends -- and she's such a social leper she has to see a therapist to improve her mental health. Nevertheless, you guys ASKED HER QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL LIVES! And she answered!

    Read the advice columns here:

    http://www.randombuzzers.com/the-buzz/boards/topic/313/107543/ http://www.randombuzzers.com/the-buzz/boards/topic/313/107540/ http://www.randombuzzers.com/the-buzz/boards/topic/313/103205/ http://www.randombuzzers.com/the-buzz/boards/topic/313/102246/

Real Live Boyfriends is the fourth in the series. Roo has boyfriends! More than one! After the long period of noboyfriend she suffered through in The Treasure Map of Boys (book 3), you'd think she'd be happy. But more than one boyfriend is never that happy-making -- and Ruby has to figure out why Noel is suddenly a pod-robot and whether Gideon is worth the risk. Naturally, Ruby still sees Doctor Z, still has crazy parents, and still footnotes her every thought.

Come ask me questions on my Random Buzzers boards! Anything you ask, I'll answer.

    ANYTHING.  Wink

Also, of course, you can find me online at www.emilylockhart.com. The site includes links to amusing online quizzes related to the first thre Ruby Oliver books, an FAQ, my Twitter feed and a sneak preview of Real Live Boyfriends.

  • Random Hour #113: Dear Santa

    Dec 16, 2010

    Dear Santa,

For this holiday season, I’d really like a few things. I won’t waste your time, I know you’re a busy guy so I’ll get right to it. I’d really like the first edition, hard cover copy of Vixen by Jillian Larkin. That cover is just so awesome and I think it would look really great on my shelf next to my copy of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I’d also really like to know what happens in the 4th Inheritance Cycle book, so if you wouldn’t mind bugging Chris Paolini about that, it would be very much appreciated. Third, my Kindle is fun but the new iPads are kind of amazing, so one of those would be great! And for my final request, I’d really, truly and greatly appreciate it if you could get Warner Bros. to stop their production on the revamp of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m sorry, but Buffy just isn’t Buffy without Sarah Michelle Gellar and Joss Whedon.

    Sincerely,

    BuzzGirl
